dc.description Daniel Heft measuring a 13 inch white pine in his 8-acre plantation established about 20 years ago. Original trees were spaced 16 feet apart and have been pruned at two different times. Scotch pine which were interplanted later did not grow well. The crop trees were pruned the first time when they were about 20 feet high and were pruned the second time in 1942. An effort was made to maintain about half of the total height in crown. Location - 1 mile south of West Carlisle, Coshocton Co., Ohio. Item #5209
