Description:
Badger farm white pine varied spacing experiment, planted 1954-1955. Trees spaced 6' x 6', 7' x 7', 8' x 8', and 9' x 9' in three contiguous blocks, and the arrangement of planted strips randomized within the blocks. Fourteen permanent sample plots including 12' x 12' and 15' x 15' established by Aughanbaugh and Quinn in early autumn of 1960, at which time all trees on the 9-acre tract were pruned, leaving only the main leader and two topmost whorls of limbs.
