dc.description "Pere Marquette No. 8" was originally the "H.W. Williams," built in South Haven, Michigan in 1888. Later renamed the "Tennessee," she carried passengers between Chicago and the Michigan cities of South Haven and Saugatack. The Pere Maquette Company bought and renamed the ship in 1913. She was destroyed in a fire at Manistee, Michigan on October 26, 1927.
