dc.description E. Bates in Trenton, Michigan, built the wooden passenger steamer the "Arrow" in 1848. She initially ran between Cleveland and Buffalo before navigating between Detroit, Monroe, and Toledo from 1855-1856. The "Arrow" was condemned in Green Bay in 1863, and her engine was purportedly transferred to the "Geo. L. Dunlap" upon its completion in 1864.
