dc.description Craig Ship Building Company of Toledo, Ohio built the "Grand Haven" in 1903. The ship was owned by the Grand Trunk-Milwaukee Car Ferry Company, a subsidiary of Grand Trunk Western Railroad. The "Grand Haven" ferried railcars across Lake Michigan from ports in Michigan and Wisconsin to avoid congested railways in Chicago.
