dc.description The boardwalk (hung with lights for nighttime strollers), bathouse, and sea slide all frame a portion of Cedar Point's beach. Sea slides - also called water toboggans - were popular at beach resorts, and Cedar Point installed its slide in the early 1890's. The wooden slides' life spans were shortened by the ice that built up on Lake Erie in the winter months.
