dc.description The Canadian steamer "Duchess of York" was built in Montreal, Quebec, in 1895; she plied the rapids of the St. Lawrence River between Montreal and Ottawa. The "Duchess of York" ran under a number of names, sailing as the "Sorel" from 1915 to 1927 before being rechristened the "Pelerin." In 1935, she was renamed the "Beloeil," an appellation that she maintained until her decommission in 1945.
