dc.description The Ann Arbor Railroad began rail service between Frankfort, Michigan, and Toledo, Ohio, in 1878. In 1892 the company became the first rail line to provide ferry service across Lake Michigan. The "Ann Arbor No. 4" was built by the American Ship Building Company of Cleveland, Ohio, in 1906.
