dc.description Constructed by the Gilbert Shipyard in 1870 in Montreal, Quebec, the "Corsican" was built for the Canadian Navigation Company to operate on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River between Toronto and Montreal. She was taken over by the Richelieu and Ontario Navigation Company in 1875 and rechristened the "Picton" in 1907.
