dc.description The "City of Milwaukee," built in 1931 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, was one of at least five ferries owned by the Grand Trunk-Milwaukee Car Ferry Company. The "City of Milwaukee" was a railcar ferry that carried freight cars across Lake Michigan. The Grand Trunk-Milwaukee Car Ferry Company was part of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, an international rail company linking rail lines in Canada and the United States.
