dc.description The iron "Japan," constructed in 1871, would operate under a number of names. She was sold to the Montreal and Lake Erie Steamship Company in 1910, at which time she was rechristened the "City of Hamilton" and commissioned to ply between Montreal and Cleveland. In 1927, she was taken over by the Canadian Steamship Lines and renamed the "City of Walkerville," running as such until she became the barge "Roy K. Russel."
