Roller cars made their first appearance on the Boardwalk of Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 1887. Visitors rented the wicker chair and a guide to push the chair along the boardwalk. The passengers in these three roller cars enjoy the view of Lake Erie as a curious youngster watches.
