Globe Iron Works, Cleveland, Ohio, built the "Virginia" in 1891. She was used to carry passengers between Chicago and Milwaukee. She was reconfigured and enlarged, eventually having three decks and 142 rooms. In 1920, she was sold and sent to Santa Catalina Island, California, as the "Avalon." |
