dc.description The steel "Ontario No. 2" was built by Polson Iron Works in Toronto, Ontario, in 1915. She was initially used - with the "Ontario No. 1" - to transport railroad cars, automobiles, and passengers between Rochester and Cobourg. In 1944, during World War II, she was commissioned to carry pulpwood and coal for the delivery of war merchandise.
