The "Turbinia" was built in 1904 at Hepburn-on-Tyne (Newcastle, England) and brought to Lake Ontario for service between Toronto and Hamilton. She then navigated along the coast between New York and the West Indies as part of the fruit trade. In 1913, the "Turbinia" was purchased by the Niagara Navigation Company and plied from Toronto, Hamilton, and Niagara. She was last owned by the Canada Steamship Lines of Montreal, Quebec, and was dismantled on December 31, 1937.
