Gasoline was available at Mitiwanga for those who traveled from Ohio cities to spend time at Mitiwanga. Initially, summer visitors traveled from Cleveland suburbs by way of the Lake Shore Electric Railway. The interurban line played a primary role in the development of Lake Erie recreation facilities.
