Although she was sailing as the "Muskegon" when she sank on October 28, 1919, the ship was christened the "City of Milwaukee" when she was built at Wyandotte, Michigan, in 1881 for the Goodrich Company. From 1896 to 1917, she sailed as the "Holland" for the Graham and Morton Company. She was sailing as the "Muskegon" and owned by the Crosby Transportation Company when she was wrecked; her sinking claimed 29 lives.
