dc.description The Canadian Steel Ship "Hamonic" was built in Collingwood, Ontario, in 1909. She was commissioned to the Northern Navigation Division of the Canadian Steamship Company and plied on cruise trips from Detroit to Duluth. On July 17, 1945, whilst docked at Point Edward, Ontario, with approximately 225 passengers, the "Hamonic" caught fire. No lives were reported lost, but the ship was badly ravaged by the flames and considered a total loss. She was sold in September of 1945 as junk to a machine shop operator from Windsor, Ontario.
