The steel paddle steamer "Kingston" was built in Toronto, Ontario, in 1901 for the Richelieu-Ontario Line; it sailed between Toronto, Rochester, Kingston, and Prescott. It came to operate under the Western Division of the Canadian Steamship Company, running along the same route. The "Kingston" increased its number of weekly trips when the "Toronto" became laid up in 1938.
