dc.description Christened the "Berkeley" when she was built at Richmond, Virginia in 1902, the ship was first owned by the Old Dominion Line. She sailed between Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia. She was sold four times, each owner sailing her on routes on the Great Lakes and the east coast. She was renamed "Virginia" by her last owner, the Pere Marquette Steam Line.
