dc.description Originally built as the "Alexandra" by the Cantin shipyard of Montreal in 1866, this Canadian paddle steamer was sold to Hepburns in 1883, lengthened, and rechristened the "Alexandria." She carried passengers and freight between Rochester, Bay of Quinte ports, and Quebec for many years. She was wrecked amidst fog near Toronto - off Scarboro Bluff - on August 3, 1915.
