dc.description Not only freighters to carry stone tied up at docks on Kelleys Island - small fishing and pleasure boats tied up, too. The Lay brothers had an arrangement with the Kelleys Island Lime & Transport Company that allowed them to use the docks and the inactive north quarry. The Lay brothers and other commercial fisherman used the quarry to tar and dry their nets.
