Description:
The Kelleys Island tour bus not only carried passengers, it also advertised events. This bus gives notice of a dance. Tourism probably began on Kelleys Island as early as 1846 when the steamboat ISLANDER was put into commission. It made three trips each week between Sandusky, Ohio, and Kelleys Island. When passenger ship companies learned of the ISLANDER'a schedule, they often took passengers aboard at Buffalo and Detroit and left them at Kelleys Island.
