dc.description In 1912, the Sandusky Rriver Power Company set about constructing a dam and power plant to harness the power of the Sandusky River near Ballville. About 30 skilled workmen fashioned steel into a pipe 12 feet in diameter and laid it along the river's south bank to carry water from a reservoir above the dam to the hydroelectric plant below it.
