In February of 1913, Weldon B. Cooke tried out his tractor biplane on Sandusky Bay's ice. After the third test run, he caught a wheel in thin ice, causing the aircraft to break through the ice. With help of Sanduskians, who were observing the test run, Cooke was able to recover the biplane from the waters of Sandusky Bay. |
