dc.description Inclement weather forced the unveiling of the Soldiers Monument in Castalia Cemetery to be held July 4, rather than Memorial Day, 1904. Weather still created problems at the ceremony. Moments after the flags covering the monument were removed, a thunderstorm hit. Spectators ran for shelter, but the Civil War veterans and Company B, 16th Regiment, Ohio National Guard stayed at the monument until the rain stopped and ceremonies resumed.
