Description:
In 1911, Sandusky, Ohio, carriage and wagon maker George Bing was secretly studying aviation and building an airplane in a vacant building across from his shop. His secret was revealed when boys playing in the neighborhood peeked into the building. As the first to build an airplane in Sandusky, Ohio, Bing was no doubt uncertain of his ability to construct a craft that would fly. He later transported it on a large wagon to this Castalia, Ohio, farm. The conveyance and its cargo took up most of the roadways on which it traveled.
