dc.description The Weichel family of Castalia, Ohio, held just one of dozens of family reunions that William Bruns hosted at Rye Beach Park each summer. From the moment Bruns established the park, he worked to make the park convenient for large families and religious groups. The park had more than 200 places designated as hitching spots for visitors arriving in horse-drawn carriages.
