dc.description Rev. Henry Cooke dubbed this picture of his father Jay Cooke (1821-1905), taken May 14, 1901, "Jay Cooke, The Tycoon." He noted in the Gibraltar Record that the family patriarch had issued a "fiat" to his son Rev. Henry Cooke that "the records must be written" of the Cooke families' visits to Gibraltar Island.
