dc.description Tom Benoist's chief pilot, Tony Jannus landing at Cedar Point with his passenger. This model of Tom Benoist's Flying Boat was identical to that flown by Jannus from St. Petersburg to Tampa, Florida. It weighed 1,250 pounds and was 26 feet long and had a top speed of 64 miles per hour. It was powered by a Roberts Motor Company 75 horsepower, two-cycle engine. The engine was placed in the hull behind and below the pilot, lowering the center of gravity. The hull was built of three thicknesses of spruce. Between each was a layer of fabric.
