dc.description Identified by letter or the name of an early official, the cottages at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home were built with differing architectural details. Cottage D, pictured here, as well as M and B, had a hipped roof and four central chimneys. Three sides of the cottage had dormers with parapets. The double-hung windows were in groups of two or three and topped with arches of colored stone.
