dc.description An important part of Kelleys Island Lime and Transport Company, the cooper shop made and repaired barrels used to ship limestone. Lime produced on Kelleys Island was strong, white, and pure - ideal for plastering. Because the lime was easily ruined by moisture, it was packed and shipped in watertight barrels. The crew foreman is Jessie Figue, standing on the right-hand end of the back row
