This flight on Sandusky Bay was one of many made by Harry Atwood during the summer of 1913. While other aviators were flying, designing, and constructing aircraft at Sandusky, Ohio, none was as adept at capturing the attention of reporters, photographers, and investors as was Atwood. Perhaps Atwood received more financial assistance from city fathers and local investors than did other aviators. Yet, of all the aviators who were drawn to Sandusky, Atwood produced the least. |
