dc.description Rye Beach Park's fine beach, groves of shade trees, and facilities made it a popular destination for outdoor recreational activities for large groups and organizations. As early as 1900, Rye Beach was described as "the best and the most fitting resort for church, Sunday school or common school picnics in the State of Ohio." These men and boys were probably typical of the groups that spent time each summer at Rye Beach Park.
