dc.description |
This whaleback steamer South Park was christened the Frank Rockefeller when she was built at Superior, Wisconsin in 1896. The ship was refitted several times to carry ore, coal, autos, and grain. Eventually she was rebuilt as an oil tanker and renamed the Meteor. In 1947 she was still carrying oil. |
