Train service to Tiffin, Ohio resumed March 25, 1913, two days after Easter Sunday's eight-inch rainfall led to the severe flooding of the Sandusky River. Railroad bridges, which were weighted with loaded coal cars, were the only spans that withstood the force of the flood waters.
