dc.description After the Sandusky River washed away part of the newly built Ballville Dam March 25, 1913, the "Fremont Daily Messenger" reported that "waters ran over the retaining wall and then over...about 500 feet of this pipe. The pipe struck the Ballville bridge and the end of the pipe went up 100 feet in the air, crashing against the bridge. Another section of about 400 feet broke loose."
