dc.description Johann Himmelein built his home on Kelleys Island about 1849. He enlarged it by adding two wings and a third story and turned it into a hotel about 1870. The Himmelein family reverted the hotel back to a private home about 1916. It stands on East Lake Shore Road (March 2005)
