dc.description Jay Cooke was a deeply religious man. He provided funds for the building and operating of St. Paul's Church on Put-in-Bay. The first services were held there in October 1865. Jay Cooke supported the church throughout his life, worshipping there, providing financial aid, and writing comments on the church's activities in his Gibraltar Record. The church looks much the same today as it did in Jay Cooke's lifetime.
