dc.description |
Henry Barnhart (1846-1890) invented the prototype for the Marion Steam Shovel Company's excavating machine. He took his design to Marion, Ohio blacksmith Edward Huber. Barnhart and Huber, along with George King, founded the Marion Steam Shovel Company in 1884. For years, however, the machine was known as the Barnhart shovel. |
