Rev. Henry Cooke wrote about his sons Henry Jr., and Russell and their activities on Gibraltar Island, the Cooke family's summer vacation spot: "They are always in the boats from morning until night, sometimes rowing thro[ugh] the devious channels of the rocks in the lake side."
