Fremont residents caught in the flooding of the Sandusky River wrote of their experiences: "On Wednesday morning we could see houses swept into the street. Mrs. Dunning's soon went to pieces and disappeared....I saw the back part of Dr. Beaugrand's house float away and disappear...."
