Icemen loading blocks from a conveyor on to Cincinnati, Hamilton, and Dayton (C H & D RR) rail cars. Ice dealers from cities as distant as St. Louis, Missouri, took advantage of the cold weather and shipped their ice by rail immediately after the harvest.
