dc.description When it became apparent to Fremont's city officials that the rain which began to fall Easter Sunday, March 23, 1913, would cause wide-spread flooding, calls went out to neighboring communities. Chambers of commerce in Toledo, Elyria, Pittsburg, Lorain, Alliance, and Upper Sandusky sent money and supplies. Life boats and experienced crew men came from Port Clinton, Sandusky, and Toledo.
