La angustia es algo inquietante, la mejor descripción la encontramos en Freud en su artículo sobre lo Unheimlich. Se trata de algo que sucede súbitamente, es la entrada en la dimensión de lo siniestro, algo que puede ser muy breve, un flash.La angustia es esencialmente un corte, sin el cual el significante, su funcionamiento, su surco en lo real es imposible. Pero esto que es sólo un instante, que inmediatamente queda elidido por quedar tomados en la escenificación, demuestra qué sucede cuando en el marco significante aparece lo más cercano, lo heim, el huésped pero bajo su otra dimensión, lo más extraño, el objeto. ¿Por qué la angustia no engaña? ¿Cómo calibramos en psicoanálisis una tal noción, la de la certeza? ¿Qué podemos decir de la clínica de los nuevos síntomas, que parece configurarse en un más allá del principio del deseo?No se trata de oponer certeza a realidad y pensar en mundos irreales. Tomamos entonces la relación que podemos establecer entre la angustia, la certeza y el enigma. Si lo pensamos en términos lingüísticos un enigma es una enunciación cuyo enunciado se desconoce. Pero si hay una enunciación es que hay alguien de quien proviene. Es al sujeto a quien le concierne.
