dc.description The aim of this investigation is to measure high precision Pb isotope ratios in selected coals from major world coal deposits and put the findings within the context of global atmospheric lead pollution. These values contribute to establish a background for identifying lead pollution sources. By relating the data obtained in this study with data reported in previous studies it can be concluded that coal combustion is, even now, a significant contributor to atmospheric lead.
