[EN] Theoretical and computational scattering acoustic waves from a large hollow sphere (ka>>1) submerged into the water and with air inside are investigated in the case that the shell is very thin (thickness of the wall <2.5% of the outer radius). The amplitude and phase of the scattered wave in the external fluid is calculated as function of frequency for a very large frequency band (ka=0÷134). The time echo response of the sphere is obtained by inverse FFT transformation of the form function. The time response when the duration of the incident pulse is very short (<<a/c), shows the arrival time of each pulse series, and suggest from what type of surface wave moving around the shell is originate of each part of the echo. Reflected wave and two surface waves traveling around the sphere surface has been detected. The path of each wave is given and the sound velocity and attenuation of the surface waves is deduced. |
