Nucleic acids that encode peptides or fragments of same have been isolated, characterised and identified, said nucleic acids comprising at least one epitope of allergen Ole e 1 or of allergen Ole e 2 of olive tree pollen of defined olive tree varieties. Said peptides, which possess one or more allergenic epitopes of the major allergens of olive tree pollen, have allergenic activity and can be used in the diagnosis and treatment of an allergy to olive tree pollen. The allergenic activity of the aforementioned peptides or fragments of same can be modulated with the introduction of suitable modifications in order to produce hypoallergenic or hyperallergenic variants. In addition, the use of specific recombinant allergens of defined olive tree varieties enables individual reactivity profiles to be determined for each patient and personalised immunotherapies to be produced.[ES]Se han aislado, caracterizado e identificado ácidos nucleicos que codifican péptidos, o fragmentos de los mismos,que comprenden, al menos, un epítopo del alérgeno Ole e 1 o del alérgeno Ole e 2 de polen de olivo de variedades definidas de olivo. Dichos péptidos, que poseen uno o más epítopos alergénicos de los alérgenos mayoritarios del polen de olivo tienen actividad alergénica y pueden ser utilizados en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de la alergia al polen de olivo. La actividad alergénica de dichos péptidos o fragmentos de los mismos puede ser modulada mediante la introducción de modificaciones apropiadas con el fin de obtener variantes hiopoalergénicas o hiperalergénicas. El empleo de alérgenos recombinantes específicos de variedades definidas de olivo permite, además, determinar perfiles individualizados de reactividad para cada paciente y el diseño de inmunoterapias perso~ nalizadas.
