This article analyzes the foundation of the Junta para Ampliación de Estudios e Investigaciones Científicas (JAE) as the first modern attempt to draw and develop a scientific policy in Spain. The JAE had some continuity with the creation of the Spanish National Research Council after the civil war and more recently, through the present science policy. |
