dc.description Este trabajo analiza el desarrollo de la política educativa española desde 1970 hasta el final del periodo socialista. Hace un especial hincapié en el periodo socialista. Se demuestra que la política educativa del PSOE sigue una “pauta socialdemócrata”, es decir, está formulada según criterios universales de ciudadanía y compensatorios. Se demuestra que el PSOE se diferenció de la UCD no tanto por el gasto en educación sino más bien por el diseño de la política educativa. Este resultado apunta a que hay una diferencia partidista en el diseño de la política educativa. This paper analyses the development of education policy from 1970 to the end of the Socialist period in Spain. It stresses the Socialist period from 1982 to 1996. It shows that Socialist education policy followed a “Social Democratic path”, that is, was based in universal principles of citizenship and compensatory principles. It proves that Socialist education policy was different from UCD education policy mainly in terms of the design of policies. This result highlights the importance of a partisan difference in education policy design.
